El Paso County Department of Human Services (DHS) Advisory Commission.
The El Paso County Department of Human Services (DHS) Advisory Commission reviews and provides formal recommendations regarding the Department of Human Services' program operations and program budgets. The DHS Advisory Commission assists in enhancing community partnerships, establishing human services priorities in the county, and monitors the coordination and implementation of the Department of Human Services' initiatives and mandated services.
The commission consists of nine voting members from the community appointed by the Board of County Commissioners (BoCC) and four ex-officio (non-voting) members. Voting members are appointed for three-year terms (initial terms are staggered), and are limited to serving two consecutive terms. Ex-Officio (non-voting) members consisting of the BoCC Department of Human Services Liaison, the County Administrator, the Human Services Director and the County Budget Director serve indefinite terms.
