FORESTRY & WEED ADVISORY COMMISSION

Duties of the Forestry & Weed Advisory Commission include: develop and tri-annually review an action plan for the integrated management of state-mandated weeds; designate additional weeds that are or have the potential for becoming problematic in the county; and recommend to the Boar of County Commissioners that identified individual landowners be required to submit their management strategies to control targeted plants to the El Paso County Environmental Services Division.  Their strategies must utilize the most environmentally safe methods that are available while still being effective.

Additionally, the commission serves to educate the public by speaking to groups and owner associations and displaying educational materials at community events.
