VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Colorado Springs, August 11, 2010 - The El Paso County Board of Commissioners is seeking community-minded citizen volunteers to serve as Citizen-at-Large members on the Community Corrections Board.  Applications for the open positions are due by September 3rd. 

            The Community Corrections Board advises the Board of County Commissioners on community-based and community-oriented programs that provide supervision of offenders being diverted from prison and those transitioning back into the community after prison.  It is comprised of representatives from the following entities:  District Attorney, Sheriff, Chief Probation Officer, Manager of Parole Operations, Deputy State Public Defender, District Court Judge, Police Office, Teller County, the mental health field, and six citizen-at-large representatives.  Members serve indefinite terms except for the citizen-at-large representatives, who are appointed for three-year terms.

 

Colorado Springs, August 31, 2010 - The El Paso County Board of Commissioners is seeking community-minded citizen volunteers to serve on the Fair and Events Complex Advisory Board.  Applications for the open positions are due by September 24th.

            The Fair and Events Complex Advisory Board assists with the development, management, programming, and operation and maintenance of the Fair and Events Complex in Calhan.  Board members also help to produce the annual County Fair.  The board consists of nine regular members and an unspecified number of associate members appointed by the Board of County Commissioners.  Regular members serve for three-year terms and associate members serve for one-year terms.
